L305- ICON KIMONO

Kimono

Symbol Collection

"I saved this present, my love, to give you.
Made of soft silk, make me remember you,
From unique and perfect time,
where I had you just for me.
Where did you get dressed,
covered wings of garden.
I wait you return, in this infinity certainty
of your kimono, my love, save to the end!

Kimono MEMORY

The Japanese Kimono is one of the most famous traditional garments in the world and is now a symbol of Japan. ALMA de LUCE® unveils its history, full of elegance and meanings.

The word Kimono has a curious meaning, because in Japanese it literally means “to wear” (“ki” = wear and “mono” = thing). The term originates in the XVI century, when Portuguese and Spanish navigators, arriving in Japan, asked about the silk clothes that the natives wear, which the Japanese respond only saying “kimono”.
