A mudhif (in Arabic: المضيف al-muḍīf) is a traditional reed house made by the Madan people (also known as Arabian marshes) in the swamps of southern Iraq, built from reeds harvested in the swamps where they live. These structures have been built before Greek and Roman civilization, based on local needs, availability of construction materials and reflecting local traditions.
