Takeami

Tradition Collection

In simplicity I found,
the secret of your soul:
You bring poems in your hands,
compound words
in perfect patterns,
bamboo woven,
in line with your writing.

Takeami MEMORY

ALMA de LUCE® shares a WORLD HERITAGE made of wisdom and beauty from the hand of Japanese craftsmen, through the piece TAKEAMI.

The Bamboo weaving (竹編み takeami) is a form of bamboo working (竹細工takezaiku) and traditional Japanese craft with a range of fine and decorative arts especially in basket weaving.

The Japanese people have been making baskets of bamboo for thousands of years, however, it was in the 15th century, after a special commemoration of the Tea, by the Japannese culture, that led to a demand for handmade bamboo tea pieces and with this a pool of talented artisans was developed to face this demand.

Japanese Bamboo Art

Recognition of bamboo craftsmanship as a traditional Japanese decorative art began at the end of the 19th century, and became accepted as an art form.
